Softie Mount - One piece injection mold

We have redesigned the Softie mount as a "one piece" molding. All the dimensions remain as they were with the original mount, but now it does not have a glued joint. For more details about the Softies please click here.

Modular Suspension

The Modular Suspension was introduced in 1999, and is a direct replacement for the Horse shoe & C hoop suspensions.

A number of enhancements were incorporated into the design of the Modular suspensions, please see below for details:

• Microphone clips
  The new clips are made from a very robust thermo plastic called Hytrel.
  This material makes the clips almost unbreakable, and provides far
  better hold on the microphone. Each Mono modular suspension come with
  all sizes of clips (19/20mm, 21/22mm, 25mm & 25mm Square MKH).
• Suspension Bands
  The black elastic cord & reef knots have been replaced by custom made
  silicone bands. Each microphone clip is held by 4 silicone bands which
  support the microphone centrally within the suspension.
• Modular Suspension Hoops
  The suspension hoop or rings are now injection moulded Glass filled Nylon.
  They have an outside diameter of 80mm, and they sit on top of the Modula
  bar, as opposed to being attached on the ends.
• Modular Suspension bar
  The Modular bars come in three sizes (1 Mod -80mm; 2 Mod - 160mm;
  3 Mod-240mm). As the hoops can be positioned anywhere along the bar
  (using the holes marked with "A" numbers), this allows the suspension to
  be modular.

The Connbox (Modular Suspension accessory)

The Connbox can be fitted to the Modular Suspension to isolate and eradicate cable-borne noise. The Connbox acts as a transition connector and anchor point for the microphone tail. Available in mono or stereo it has a flexible starquad output cable that terminates in a 3 (or 5) pin XLR at the pistol grip. The input cable is an ultra-thin pluggable tail fitted with either a Lemo connector (Schoeps CCM) or an XLR socket that has a special locking ring to prevent rattle. The cable needs no special dressing or positioning just plug and go.

Lavalier/Personal Mic Windjammers (Furrys)

The Windjammer (Furry) is designed to be used on Lavalier or Personal microphones worn on the outside of clothing.

XLR Holder

The XLR holder is a simple device supplied with all Modular suspensions to hold the XLR connector when being used on a boom pole. The holder is simply held in place by the action of screwing the boom adaptor to the boom pole or stand. The XLR is then simply fitted into the clip for a secure hold.
