New face for UK Sales & Business Development at Rycote

Tim Constable Settles In As Rycote's UK Sales Manager
Stroud, UK, Autumn 2010: A new face has joined Rycote over the Summer — Tim Constable, who has taken on the position of UK Sales Manager to develop the company's relationships with its sales partners and distribution networks within the United Kingdom, and develop new markets for the fast diversifying Rycote product range.
Following a demanding grounding in sales at Yellow Pages and Prudential, Tim diversified into technical sales and business development at a variety of UK companies including Group 4 Securicor and GE Lighting, and is therefore perfectly placed to grasp the technical intricacies of Rycote's product range while developing and strengthening the company’s commercial relationships in the UK.
"As Rycote's home territory, the United Kingdom is one of the company's most important markets," he explains from Rycote's Stroud HQ. "What's more, it's been a busy couple of years for product development, and we're now making products in areas beyond our original core markets in broadcast, such as the MI and home recording market with the InVision USM studio mic mount and the videography market with the Universal Camera Kit, so I'm seeking out the best ways to bring those products to their target markets, which are not always the same ones by which we've reached our customers in the past."
Since Tim joined Rycote, he has been instrumental, along with Sennheiser UK, in closing a large order for the InVision USM with pro-audio retailer Digital Village, a retail chain with which Rycote had only occasional dealings with in the past. He has now begun tackling the photography and video retail markets."The arrival of HD video-capable SLR cameras has really shaken up the video market in the UK," he comments, "and I see that as a key growth market for Rycote's windjammer and microphone suspension products. There are lots of people coming into the location video market from stills photography, both at the high-end and the consumer level. Many of them are looking for help with achieving professional levels of quality on the audio side, either to protect a built-in mic from wind noise or to prevent wind noise and vibrations reaching external mics. Generally speaking, these people haven't really had to deal with audio before, and we have a number of products that can help them."
