Successful PHOTOVISION 2011 show for CALAVITIS, Rycote’s dealer for Greece.
Photovision 2011 took place this year from 11-14 March, a show dedicated to the emerging market of photographers and videographers. As it takes place every 2 years it has become an optimum venue for the introduction of new concepts, ideas and products in the pro-sumer market. Visitors from all over Greece came to the expo making Photovision one of the primary informative hubs for the market.

It is not a coincidence that Calavitis S.A. started 42 years ago from the photographic field and evolved in the motion picture and broadcast field. Now with products from leading brands from the motion picture industry re-directing products to the photo-video prosumer markets, Calavitis in turn also has re-focused its’ knowledge and efforts to offer this market the required products and services.
Calavitis S.A. took part in the exhibition this year as it has now dedicated products for the market. The experience of over 40 years in the business was reflected in the visitors, which were not only amazed at the new products, but at the high level of professionalism of the Calavitis team. Their in depth knowledge in the fields of production for either the still or motion picture areas, with all its connotations and accessories was a very welcome change to the “find it out yourself” approach was the visitors were accustomed to. Booth number 107 became a Mecca for the ones who were searching value for money products, provided to them from a team which understood and offered solutions for their every need.

The booth hosted ARRI, SACHTLER, OCONNOR, ANTON BAUER, PETROL, AUTOCUE, EGRIPMENT, and RYCOTE. A selection of products from these brands was presented so the visitors can see and feel for themselves the high level of quality of these products. The products which were exhibited were correctly focused for the shows’ clientele, this was obvious from the simple fact that the majority of visitors stopped at our booth as something had caught their eye and made them take a closer look.
The main head turners were:

Rycote’s Universal Camera Kit was the item which won the most points in the audio section. Its adaptability coupled with the quality of the material made it a “must have” for the outdoor videographer. Visitors who came to the booth asked if it can be used on this or that camera and the answer was always the same, yes.
Another new unit which attracted a lot of attention was none other than the Invision Studio Kit (a complete suspension and pop filter system, which combines the Universal Studio Mount (USM) with a new Universal Pop Filter). The large number of applications and mic’s it can support coupled with its price, has made the USM + Pop Filter one of the most valuable and interesting units of the show. This is not to diminish the fact that the visitors were overly impressed with the range of mics which RYCOTE can accommodate. Present was a selection of smoothies, softies, windshield kits and accessories for lavalier showing the people the quality and applications were the mic’s can now be used.
A countless number of visitors stopped over at the booth, for an exchange of views, solutions and some even for the pop-corn! With a roster of over 200 new clients and friends Calavitis has labeled Photovision 2011 a success. It’s newly found friends are keen, knowledgeable and highly skilled, the products and services provided by Calavitis are the optimum ingredients for their success.
As we were informed it was what the market was looking for, a company with experience which can offer real eye-opening innovations and support and not just another “super market” type store. The experience, support and network coupled with products of the represented leading brands can only provide the incentive for our clientele to excel and go to the “next level”.
After all, it is nice to evolve…
