The Duck
The Duck is a breakthrough waterproof roof for the Modular Windshield and S-Series windshield systems. Ideal for use in static outside broadcasts such as sports stadia and golf courses, the Duck is designed to reduce rain noise and keep the microphone dry which can be particularly problematic during outdoor shoots.
The development team at Rycote has used a corrugated foam design to minimise polar distortion, allowing raindrops to disperse, and a waterproof inner lining which collects water before it noiselessly trickles out. The Duck is secured to the windshield with two Velcro straps.
