Modular Suspensions
- The Modular suspension is designed to work with the Modular Windshield, and forms an integral part of the Modular Windshield kit.
- The Modular Suspension completely supports the microphone in a cradle arrangement using the patented “Lyre” suspension webs. The suspension provides isolation against handling noise vibrations from the boom pole or handheld use. Since the original launch of the Modular suspension in 1999, it has become the accepted standard in the professional industry. This was recognised in 2000, when it won a Technical Achievement Award, from the Academy Awards.
-
The enhanced "Lyre" suspensions webs replaced the original silicone O-rings suspension in September 2008. The Lyres are completely backward compatible with previous designs of Modular Suspensions. The patented lyres use no elastic or rubber components, and offer high isolation against handling noise, from the handle or boom. The lyres are available as an upgrade for all previous designs of Modular suspension, and suspensions made prior to 1999.

A Connbox is fitted as standard, to Small & Medium Suspensions and Windshield Kits 1- 6. The Connbox uses only the best ultra soft/flexible Mogami cable & gold pin Neutrik 3-pin XLR's. The Connbox breaks the transmission path of the cable-borne noise, and reduces handling noise.
-
Three standard mono versions, each with a different length bar (1 module, 2 module and 3 module) but with all other components shared.
-
Stereo suspensions available to fit a wide variety of stereo pairs, single shank stereo microphones, and stereo capsule microphones.
