S-Series Kits
- The S-series is a zeppelin/blimp style of microphone suspension & windshield system with a difference.
- The suspension element of the S-series uses the patented "Lyre" suspension web, which is a revolutionary non-elastic suspension introduced in March 2007. The lyre design gives ideal isolation for all axial microphones. Unlike rubber or elastic suspensions the materials used in the lyres are unaffected by temperature and all-but unbreakable.
- The suspension is suitable for microphones 19mm (¾”) to 25mm (1”) in shaft diameter, and up to 400 mm (16") in length.
- Every S-series comes supplied with a high quality microphone cable, fitted with Neutrik gold 3-pin XLR connectors.
- The S-series Windshield is made from two "pods" being attached to the suspension chassis ring. The pods are available in 4 sizes, and have an integral fur cover built onto a rigid internal frame. The S-series pods are lightweight & made from extremly tough parts, which are strong enough to withstand all the rigours of ENG recording environment

What size do I need?
The maximum length of all our windshields (Modular or S-series) are calculated by adding the length of the mic to 5 cm (for the XLR). This will ensure that the microphone is mounted centrally within the windshield, and not poking out into the end cap (dome) as this reduces the effectiveness of the windshield. On the S-series the overall body length is made up from the two "pod" bodies and the chassis ring. So with the pod lengths of 125 mm, 150 mm, 180 mm & 225 mm many combinations can be made up. It is OK for a microphone that is too short to be in a windshield, just not the other way around.
