What size do I need?
All of Rycote's slip-on windshields (windscreens) sizes are calculated in the same way. The windshield MUST cover all the ports on the microphone. So the length or depth of the microphone must mean when fitted the windshield covers the ports. The diameter of the microphone is also key, as the fit must be tight to keep a good seal. In some cases it is also necessary to tape over switches on the microphone body and the joint between mic & XLR. These areas can render a windshield useless sealed off.
