Foam Windshield

Foam windshields are essential accessories for virtually every microphone, whether in use indoors or outside.

Indoors, a good windshield helps to prevent loud popping sounds being created when the air from the 'p' and 't' sounds in speech or sung vocals reach the microphone's diaphragm. Outdoors, even a light breeze can cause severe distortion and intermittent popping sounds as it strikes the microphone's diaphragm, but this can be reduced or prevented altogether with a decent windshield.
