Mini Windjammer®

If you use microphones outdoors regularly, you'll know that wind conditions are often bad enough that a simple foam microphone windshield isn't enough to prevent the sound of the wind disrupting your recordings.

Rycote's larger products, such as the Softie kit or full-scale modular windshields are excellent solutions for larger microphones, but if you only need to protect a small microphone from the wind, such as the built-in mic on a camcorder or handheld digital recorder, you don't need one of these customised, expensive solutions — a Mini Windjammer^® will suffice.

These simple, easy-to-fit products are made from synthetic fur designed to absorb the impact of the wind so that it doesn't reach your microphone and are available in a variety of types, with different fur lengths. Some may even be added over the top of the existing foam windshield on a handheld microphone to afford extra protection from the wind.
