From 1999 onwards, the mono Rycote suspensions became Modular, and by default Metric. The length of the microphone determined the length of the bars and brackets.

1st Generation Modular - Silicone Bands (Orange)

Aluminium round modular hoops with a square slot cut underneath
The modular hoops are secured onto the Modular bar with 1 x M3 screw
The O-rings are held in place with 4 removable thumb (snap) rivets
There are three lengths of aluminium Modular bars (80 mm, 160 mm or 240 mm)
The aluminium Modular Bracket can be mounted on either bar, with centres of 40 or 80 mm
M5 x 20mm Star Knobs are used to hold the bracket and the bar together

The plastic Modular Bracket can be mounted on either bar, with centres of 40 or 80 mm
M5 x 20mm Star Knobs used to hold bracket & bar together
